Our area of expertise includes the towns of Ormea, Garessio, Briga Alta, Priola, Caprauna and their many hamlets, then the whole Alta Valle Tanaro. This valley is the southernmost of the Piedmont and has the distinction of having virtually ‘sea view’ alpine environments, since from the heights you can actually see the Ligurian Gulf and the Riviera Ligure can be reached in about 40 minutes by car.
Our valley can shelter from the heat in the summer heat periods, it’s a place on a human scale family friendly and you can play many sports related to the mountain throughout the year.
Highlights of our territory are the Ligurian Alps, beautiful dolomitic mountains from whose peaks you see the Ligurian Sea and Corsica to the south, the Alpine arch, the Langhe and the plain to the north. The mountain territory is also included in the protected areas of the Natural Park of the Ligurian Alps and the Natural Park of the Marguareis and the Alpes-Maritimes. The climate is cool in summer and not overly cold in winter.
The inhabited centers of the area are small medieval hamlets provided with all services and family-friendly. There are also plenty of outdoor activities to do as hiking, cycling, downhill, climbing, mountaineering, skiing, canyoning, horseback riding and fishing.
Ormea is a city dating back to the Middle Ages characterized by narrow typical alleys in dialect called ‘Trevi’, and our office is located at the beginning of Via Roma, which is the main high road and is the commercial center of the city where you can find generla food, clothes shops, newsstand and where the shops are also open on Sundays.
Here take place the major popular manifestatons like the typical parade along street adorned with garlands of flowers for Corpus Christi in June and also hosts many traditional gastronomic festivals, such as the “cin” in May, the mountain cheeses in September and the chestnut festival in October. In summer there are flea and handicraft markets almost every Sunday… and many other sights to be discovered by visiting the country.
